BIG RED PARADE - 14th February 2026
Dear locals of Southern Beaches and beyond,
on Saturday February 14 at 11am, we will come together as a community for a Big Red Parade - a visible, peaceful, and fun action to protect our bays from the polluting impacts of industrial fish farming in Tasmania.
We are gathering to raise concern about the use of antibiotics in fish farms, and what this means for the health of our waterways, marine life, and the future of our bays. Antibiotics released into the marine environment don’t just disappear - they accumulate, spread, and place long-term pressure on fragile ecosystems.
Together, we will unite in red to sing and dance our hearts and concerns out in protection of our waterways. Dance, song and lyrics supplied on the day by the Dodgy Dancing Divas.
This is a family-friendly, community-led action grounded in care for place, science, and collective responsibility. Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or arrived more recently, this is about protecting what we all share.
