About Us

Protect Our Waterways (POWW) is a community-led organisation based in the Southern Beaches region of Tasmania, within the Sorell municipality. Formed in 2024 by a group of passionate locals, POWW exists to protect the health and future of our ocean, beaches, rivers, and the species that call them home.

We advocate for waterways free from pollution, industrial harm, and degradation. Our mission is to ensure native aquatic habitats are protected and their catchments cared for — now and for generations to come.

POWW is powered by volunteers, supported by caring citizens, and open to everyone who wants to take part. Whether you’re ready to roll up your sleeves or just want to learn more, we welcome you to get involved.
